Greece’s tourism revenues in 2023 are projected to reach €21.2 billion, surpassing pre-Covid levels and outperforming both last year’s figures and those from 2019. This indicates a 15.6% increase from 2019 (€18.17 billion) and a remarkable 19.1% rise from 2022 (€17.63 billion).
Preliminary data published by the Bank of Greece reveals that first-half revenues have amounted to €6.174 billion, marking a 14.1% surge compared to the same period in 2019 (€5.41 billion) and a substantial 24% jump from 2022 (€4.98 billion).
In terms of second-quarter arrivals, Germans comprised 42% of the total, up from 39% in 2019, while arrivals from the US nearly doubled. Moreover, American visitors exhibited higher average expenditures during their stay.
