The Greek Tech Visa for Outstanding Talent offers a streamlined and expedited pathway for employees, investors, and founders of businesses and startups outside the EU to secure a residence permit in Greece. This programme targets individuals looking to contribute to Greece’s thriving tech ecosystem, which boasts over 800 startups registered with Elevate Greece, a national initiative promoting innovation.
The Tech Visa, valid for one year, grants holders the flexibility to work, change employers, or become self-employed. It can be extended to immediate family members and, upon expiration, holders can apply for renewal or permanent residency in Greece.
The Talent Visa presents a unique opportunity for highly skilled graduates from prestigious universities worldwide. This one-year visa is issued without requiring a pre-arranged job offer, allowing recipients to actively seek employment upon arrival in Greece. Eligibility extends to those who have obtained a degree or completed a postgraduate course within the past five years from renowned institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Beijing, and other top universities across Asia, Europe, and America.
While knowledge of Greek is not mandatory, prospective applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English, achieving a medium level of competency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
Applicants must also show they can support themselves financially and have sufficient funds upon arrival. They can also bring dependents, provided they can support them financially.
